Accessibility
Kessler & Rowe wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen magnification or voice control.
The standard we build to
This site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the most widely used standard for web accessibility. Every page is tested with axe-core, an automated accessibility checker, before it is published. The site does not rely on an accessibility overlay or widget; accessibility is built into the page itself.
What that covers
- Images carry text descriptions, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Every link, button and form field has a name a screen reader can announce.
- Text meets the WCAG contrast minimums against its background.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard.
- Pages set their language and have descriptive titles.
- When your device asks for reduced motion, animations and films hold still.
Known limits
Automated testing cannot catch every barrier, and parts of the site that come from other services, such as maps, booking tools or embedded media, may not meet the same standard.
